New Season
Our third season got off to a great start in early June, welcoming crew from two states and passengers from around the Eastern seaboard. Beautiful sailing weather for the most part; Captains Ray and Hans taking turns at the helm.
Behind the Scenes
Annual inspections and haul-out are part of a boat’s life, and due to our very cold and rainy Spring, Swift’s haul-out occurred in mid-June. For several days while on the hard, her bottom parts were checked, cleaned and made ready for another year in the water.
Lots of hard work for our crew, but all is ship shape!
MWC Update
Our crew are a wonderful team to watch…cheerful, hardworking and enthusiastic about being part of our Swift family! Capt. Hans with Miles, Levin and Tommy in back row. Happy passengers in front!
Our passengers really appreciate receiving complimentary copies of Capt. Ray’s Keeping the Tradition Alive book. This classic history of the coastal windjammers and our company’s role in maintaining their heritage makes for great memories and gift-giving!
Culinary Comfort
Ship’s Cook and Deckhand Levin has a knack for turning Ann’s original recipes into crowd-pleasers! Adding a little touch of magic and adjusting from wood-stove to propane cooking has introduced a new slant to our refreshing locally-sourced meals. Ann’s MWC Cookbook, reprinted several times, is still a best-seller!
Summer and Fall Outlook
This year, we re-introduced weekend trips to our selection of available cruising opportunities. Based on passenger feedback from our first two seasons, our schedule now offers weekend, 3 or 4 night trips which can also be combined for a longer deeply-discounted cruise. Old and New Salts love it!
